The Pakistan Federal cabinet has given the approval of an increase in electricity prices up to 7.5 per unit in Power tariff. Last Week Country Top Power Regulator raised the adjustment tariff up to Rs.5.
The Ministry of Power had approved the Power regulator’s suggested proposal seeking a price hike in electricity rates.
Permanent consumers where their usage of electricity are up to 100kw and ranges up to 200kw usage consumers are protected from rates hikes.
Furthermore, for consumers who are using 1-100kW every month remain at 7.74 per unit, but for consumers who are using 101-200 kilowatts (kW), rates are fixed at 10.06 per unit.
All of these rates hikes are mentioned in the proposal which is to finalised by the cabinet yet to come with the effect.
